Using Internet Explorer's AutoComplete feature
In IE8 there is a feature called Autocomplete the main features are:
- If you haven't bookmarked a website and you want to return, if you can remember the first few letters of the address type them into the address bar and IE will automatically offer a few suggested addresses based on pages you have recently visited;
- Some online forms allow IE to suggest details you reguarly use eg email, address, phone numbers etc
- IE will also remember user names and corresponding passwords
However, can also be a security risk if that computer is used or accessible by other users.
Enable or disable Internet Explorer AutoComplete
- Open Microsoft Internet Explorer;
- Click Tools and then Internet Options;
- In the Internet Options window click the Content tab;
- Click the AutoComplete button;
- Check or uncheck the options you wish have or not have AutoComplete. Below is a brief explanation of what each of the options are for.
