May 2011

Hello

Club-Sites has joined the social whirl of Facebook!

Consider "liking us" to see how we use it (see the link top right of the screen), because you may find it useful for your club.  I promise not to bamboozle you with messages about what I had for dinner, saw at the cinema or even show you my holiday snaps.  What I will do is let you know when to look out for the newsletter in your email box, I'll let you know if some new development occurs during the weeks between newsletters or if there is something that would be useful to you.

My real aim is to help you see if, and how, your club website could benefit from a social networking presence, using it as a marketing tool for your events.

As you know I'm gathering club experiences of Facebook, thank you to those of you who have already contributed.  The more contributions the more extensive my report can be. I'll include a some background and simple useage so that those of you who haven't yet set up for a wall, found friends or liked anything can find out more in plain English.

In the meantime please stay in touch by email or phone I'm happy to help with any queries, they also help us learn what is important to you and they help us refine the on-line support in the Tutorial (when you are logged in) and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the Club-Sites website.

Best wishes

Font sizes - the bigger the better and the more the merrier?
I'm afraid it's a resounding no! Surprisingly the rules haven't changed much since Caxton put type to paper. Have a look at best practice before you put type to screen.  A few simple rules to help type look good...

Changing sizes
It's always worth reviewing the nitty gritty of a process.  This time we'll look at setting font sizes on the page...

Last but not least...

Cookies on your computer New regulations came into force on 26 May 2011, what is it all about?
